Shannon Shorr's Biography

On January 19th, Shannon broke into the live tournament scene by winning $203,000 after final tabling the main event of the Australian Poker Championship, finishing 4th. One week later he finished 2nd in the Canadian Poker Championship in the Bahamas for $75,000. In March, he final tabled the $500 R+A event in Vienna, Austria for $10,000, in May he made it to the round of 16 in the World Heads-Up Poker Championship in Barcelona for $6500, in June he final tabled back-to- back WSOP circuit events in Lake Tahoe for $40,000. In July he won $77,000 in two tournament at Bellagio in Las Vegas, and he cashed twice in WSOP events. In August, he had his biggest score to date: winning $650,000 after making a deal 3 handed at the $10k Bellagio cup event. He went on to win the event, a WPT Championship trophy, and a crystal Bellagio cup trophy. Shannon continued his hot streak after the Bellagio cup by finishing 3rd in the $1500 NLHE event at The Borgata in Atlantic City in September for $51,000. Later that month he finished 8th in the $2000 event in London for $9,000 and 21st in the $7000 EPT event for $12,000.
